Wyscout

Wyscout is the standard tool in the soccer-scouting world, collecting match footage and player data from leagues at all levels worldwide. A scout wanting to watch a certain South American midfielder's performance doesn't need to fly over — they can pull up clips of all his matches right on the platform. Acquired by Hudl in 2019.

Features and use scenarios

The database covers hundreds of leagues and hundreds of thousands of players, each with match footage, statistics, and transfer records. Scouts can filter by criteria (position, age, preferred foot, stat thresholds) to narrow a shortlist, then directly watch that player's key clips and save observation reports in the system to share with the team. Agents also use it to make player-recommendation videos.

It suits scouts of professional and semi-professional teams, agencies, and soccer data analysts. Taiwan's soccer environment is small, but for evaluating players going abroad and vetting the recruitment of foreign players, such a global database is one of the few viable low-cost channels.
